Most AVR can decode up to 24bit 96Kh. You may need a DAC that can decode 32bits. If your computer can play the file, you can take the optical out and feed it to your Yamaha AVR.
Thank you dear...I dont use computer to play the song. It just yamaha which is connected to TV via hdmi (arc) and USB (audio files) is directly plugged in to yamaha. I googled and learn something about dac and understood that its intermediate product which converts sound from digital to analog. Also checked my yamaha model and found that it support 24bit but not 32. I am very passionating to listen bollywood songs between 80-90s and i don't think we we are having much content on 32bit. Hence will live with my existing setup and if 32bit arises more and more then will buy another avr with support 32bit. But i thank you for letting me know on DAC as I was completely unaware of this product and utility. Regards, anil
